Isn’t it exhilarating to simply show up and tell the truth, everywhere and all the time? Isn’t it empowering to speak honestly and authentically without fear, without deception, without pretense or defense, without hiding or holding back? Isn’t it liberating to feel comfortable in your own skin and confident in your own self, no matter what? Isn’t it exciting to speak up, to be heard, to be seen, without criticizing or censoring yourself into oblivion? Isn’t it gratifying to command attention and respect from those with whom you speak, regardless of who, when, or where? Isn’t it marvelous to see your audience galvanized by your presence and message, to feel the transformative impact of your speaking right before your very eyes?
Yes … but … most people have a short or long list of “buts.” But, what if you didn’t? What if the first paragraph accurately described your way of speaking, your way of engaging with the world? Think about it. How would you feel? What would you do? What would you say?
Finding our true voice and choosing to speak with that voice brings us to a state of grace. In choosing to tell the truth, we become a blessing to ourselves, to others, and to the world. Speaking Truthfully programs will help you dissolve your entire list of “buts” as you reclaim your power of authentic self-expression. You will make the first paragraph your own!
There are five features of Speaking Truthfully. Speaking, itself, is defined as the way in which we move in and through life; the way in which we show up in each and every moment, the way in which we express who we are, the integrity with which we tell the truth, the confidence to connect, to be transparent and vulnerable, to be strong, clear, and direct. Each one of The Five Features must be understood and developed in order to achieve artful, authentic, impactful, and effective speaking.
MINDSET
The interior consciousness: attitudes, beliefs, self-image, taboos, confidence, courage, fear, self-doubt; self-blessing or self-condemnation.
INSTRUMENT
The physical and spiritual bodies: understanding and creative use of the verbal and nonverbal elements of our speaking instrument, i.e., words, tone, posture, gestures, expressions, movement, feeling, emotion, shakti, silence. Also, the source, the place from where we speak.
CONTENT
The substance and structure of one’s speaking; the message.
EFFECT
The conscious, intentional, and purposeful effect we want to produce through our speaking; the thoughts, feelings, and actions we want to instigate in our audience.
AWARENESS
Remaining conscious and aware of what is happening while it’s happening, inside and out. Being aware of what we say and how we say it, while we speak. The capacity to integrate real time “feedback” from the audience in order to course correct.
There are a number of thematic masterclasses; however, as individuals are unique in terms of their starting place, experience, capacity, and aim, all masterclasses are unique, each one tailored and hand-crafted to provide the students in that class with a personalized, relevant, and meaningful experience. In the case of an intact team or group of like-minded people, we establish a curriculum that is relevant to that group’s particular needs. Of course, personal mentoring sessions are utterly unscripted, yet massively relevant, as each session begins right where you are and focuses on what you need then and there.
