Roberta Vinci: two brilliant performances

I have created the Speaking Truthfully Award to recognize and honor people who exemplify and embody Speaking Truthfully principles and practices.

Award

Roberta Vinci, having just produced the greatest upset in the history of women’s tennis, gives yet another astounding performance in her post-match interview, embodying the essence of Speaking Truthfully.

The distinction of Speaking Truthfully — as a philosophy and set of practical principles — is that all forms of public speaking are first and foremost an exercise in self-revelation. That is, a speaker’s first consideration is to honestly and openly reveal themselves; their true face, their character, their heart. No defense, no pretense, no deception. This is their essential message, every time they speak: self-revelation. This is the essential message of Speaking Truthfully: YOU are the message. (more…)

Reading about her triumph and listening to her speak, one can only be energized and empowered and encouraged to use one’s voice and story for the benefit of others and for the soul-saving grace of oneself.

I have created the Speaking Truthfully Award to recognize and honor people who exemplify and embody Speaking Truthfully principles and practices.

Award

If there’s one thing that floods my bits with life-giving blood, it’s an impassioned, articulate, heartfelt, shock and awe word-based awakening smack-up-the-side-of-the-head. I present Mr. Keith Olbermann, whose recent commentary on his ESPN2 show is such an awakening. (more…)
